Financial Support for Selected Candidates

The São Paulo School of Advanced Science in Obesity will provide reimbursement-based financial support for airfare, transportation expenses, travel insurance (for participants coming from abroad, according to the values listed at www.fapesp.br/2921), and daily allowances. This benefit will be granted to:

  • Selected candidates funded by foreign agencies and conducting research outside Brazil
  • Selected candidates funded and conducting research in Brazil, as long as they are not FAPESP scholarship holders

Daily allowance values follow FAPESP’s official rates, available at www.fapesp.br/12042..

FAPESP scholarship holders must use the Technical Reserve associated with their scholarship to cover daily allowances. The same applies to transportation expenses if course activities require travel to a city other than the one where their research is conducted.

Expenses related to passport issuance, visas, or any documents required for travel will not be reimbursed and are the sole responsibility of the selected participant.

The 20 spots reserved for UNICAMP students (all campuses) do not include financial support for airfare, daily allowances, or travel insurance.

The selected participant will be responsible for purchasing their own airfare and travel insurance. Reimbursement will be issued on the first day of the event and may not exceed the following amounts:

  • Airfare for participants residing outside Brazil: R$ 7,300.00
  • Airfare for participants residing in Brazil: R$ 2,000.00

Note: In accordance with FAPESP regulations, only economy‑class airfare will be reimbursed.

  • Travel insurance (10 days) for participants residing outside Brazil: R$ 52.00

Daily allowances cover expenses related to lodging, meals, and local transportation (excluding airfare). Participants will receive funds corresponding to 10 daily allowances.

It is the sole responsibility of the selected participant to book and pay for all lodging, meals, and transportation.

Daily allowance values:

  • Undergraduate Research (IC) and Doctoral students: R$ 374.00
  • Postdoctoral researchers: R$ 818.00
