Grounded in recent advances in the cellular, molecular, and neurobiological mechanisms that regulate energy balance—and in response to the urgent global rise in obesity—the School offers comprehensive training that spans epidemiology, genetics, epigenetics, nutrition, and emerging preventive and therapeutic strategies.

Monday, October 19

The day explores the foundations of the obesity pandemic, covering its definition, epidemiology, social determinants, and dietary contributors. Sessions highlight vulnerable populations, the role of ultraprocessed foods, and how diet composition shapes metabolic health.
